But because others deserve better too.

Look around you…

How many ‘dead‘ people do You see walking around?

I should know.

Because I used to be one of them.

One of the ‘living dead’.

A guy who thought life wasn’t worth living.

And so I didn’t bother trying to live anymore.

I just did the ‘zombie walk‘ for a while.

For several years, in fact.

I silently marched along with all the other ‘zombies’.

My interest in life amounted to ZERO.

I was not inspired.

And I was a million miles away from being ‘happy’.

I felt NOTHING.

I aimlessly wandered through life without any hope or purpose.

…and so what finally ‘snapped me out of it‘?!

It would be so great to tell you that I ‘randomly met someone who completely changed my life‘…

I’m pretty sure that would ‘read well’ but sadly it would be complete bullshit

What actually happened was inevitable.

I eventually came to a crossroads in my life.

Three choices presented themselves…

1) I could continue on but not change anything.

2) I could continue on but change something.

3) I could give up on life completely.

For the ‘record’…

The ‘zombies’ always choose option 1.

I decided to choose option 2…and thankfully it’s worked out so far

Some people choose option 3 and they have their reasons.

But there’s a problem with option 3.

…it always leaves You with no other options.

And so…you don’t get any more opportunities to try again.

Always try to make choices that leave you with other options…in case things don’t work out.

That’s one thing I’ve always liked about the ‘zombies’…at least they still have a choice.

Let’s talk about the ‘others’…

How about the ‘misfits’ in society?

Or the racists?

How about all those ‘evil’ people in prison?

And all the ‘others’ we so keenly turn our backs on?

How about them?

What about all those people we love to ‘hate’ so much?

What about them?

Do we give them a second thought?

A second glance?

Another chance?

…should we?

It happens far too rarely in this world.

And when it does it’s ‘ignored’ by far too many.

What?

Sometimes the ‘others’ have the most heart and soul of us all.

And sometimes that makes us the ‘others’.

We just don’t see it.

There is and never will be any division.

That was only ever in our minds.

Our hearts and souls always know so much better.

Why are we so determined to ‘divide’ that which can only ever be whole?

Why?

Ego?

Jealously?

Money?

Power?

Hatred?

…or because we ‘forgot’ to forgive and love ourselves first?

So we decide not to look at ourselves but at ‘them’ instead.

Yeah, that’s the ticket! …we’ll just focus on the ‘others’.

After all, that’s just so much easier, isn’t it?

The trouble is we are still looking at ourselves.

The ‘others’ don’t exist…remember?

And so the next time you decide to think of ‘them’…

Think of You.

Here are a just a few of the ‘highlights‘…

“You mother FUCKER!! You DON’T KNOW ANYTHING!!!”

“I hate everything you write!”

…well, I’ll stop there since I’m sure you get the drift.

But sometimes I receive feedback of a more positive nature.

A few examples…

“Thank you Dan, you helped me make the right decision.”

“I followed your advice and it worked out. Thanks dan.”

“Your article just changed my life, thank you so much!”

Interesting…

So what’s a blog writer to do?

Just quit?

…or continue writing?

Something is missing from this equation.

It’s HEART and SOUL and BELIEF.

Whatever you decide to DO in your life then make God damn sure You put ALL YOUR HEART (and Soul!) into it!!

Why?

Simple.

Because if You do…then for better or for worse, it simply won’t matter what ‘other people’ love, think or believe in.

The ONLY thing that matters is what You Love, Think and Believe in.

What matters most is your Heart and Soul…your Thoughts and your Love.

And so…if you truly love your work then please get back to it and RIGHT NOW!

You are NOT putting EVERYTHING YOU ARE into whatever ‘other people’ choose to love, think or believe in!

You are putting EVERYTHING YOU ARE into WHAT YOU CHOOSE TO LOVE, THINK and BELIEVE IN!

The rest can go hang…as they say

So what’s your next move?

Are you going to quit?

…or are You going to FIGHT for your cause..and with everything You are?

Every now and then we all deserve to have a ‘bit of a rant‘ and now it’s my turn!

So please, just let me get this over with…

The law makers, the politicians, endless rows of bureaucrats, anyone remotely ‘trusted’ with an ounce of ‘power’, losing themselves so completely inside a maze they have ‘worked hard’ to build…a maze that’s getting bigger every day.

Boxing themselves and others in, within the confines of all their extraneous laws, rules, regulations, restrictions and policies.  So entirely lost and entrapped inside their own creation.

Unable (or unwilling?) to see the bigger picture and reveal this sickening labyrinth for what it truly is…a terrible trap and with no exit in sight.

The people ‘in charge’ forget (or choose not to remember?) the most important thing of all, that people are supposed to be empowered and encouraged, not completely disarmed and ignored.

We should all be given more help and more freedoms…not less!

Our lives should be made increasingly better…not progressively worse.

Procedures, systems and processes need to be simplified or eliminated altogether…not made more complicated and retained!

Decisions that affect the lives of millions of people should be made with common sense in mind…not idiocy.

We should all be set loose to create and explore, free to live our lives to their fullest potential, not plunged into an ‘exitless’ maze, devoid of any certainty and free of all hope.

It’s time for us to face the undeniable truth…it was never about the fucking maze!!

Never about any of that crap and certainly never about money, power or ego.

It’s about being fair, kind, supportive and loving towards others…about behaving like a decent human being.

About making the right decisions for a change…and with the best and sincerest of intentions.

And so what became of the maze?

It’s still being built and is currently growing faster than ever!

Spreading its dreadful reach across all humanity like an incurable virus.

But fortunately for us, there’s still a single exit and it’s been there since the very beginning.

It’s the way we came in…

We all have problems, right?

But it’s only ever truly a problem if we don’t believe that problem has a solution.

It’s never too late to change.

But change what?

…and why?

Two simple answers…

Change that which is bad into that which is good.

Change darkness into light.

Change all that hate into love.

And the other answer?

Whenever love is involved there is no need to ask questions.

Let’s have an example…

You had an argument with your Dad, it was really bad and you haven’t spoken to him for years.

Why?

Because you were in the ‘right‘ and he was in the ‘wrong‘?

Ok, no problem, so you’ll agree to disagree.

But you still love him, right?

And he still loves you, yes?

But you’re both so fucking proud that neither of you will ever back down!

Remember what I said earlier…whenever love is involved there’s no need to ask questions.

So do yourself a favour and don’t ask any.

Swallow your pride and contact your dad right now!

Tell him you are very sorry for what happened between you.

Tell your dad that you have really missed him.

Tell him you have so much to catch up on since you last spoke.

And most importantly…tell him how much you love him.

But sadly…this won’t always work out.

So fucking what?!

Just make sure that You keep knocking on that ‘door’.

That’s what love is.

It’s that constant knock…without any expectation of an answer.

Sometimes that ‘door’ will open and sometimes it won’t.

But we’ll never need to worry about that.

Because that ‘door’ never existed in the first place.

Love has no barriers, boundaries or limitations.

That’s what love is.

And that’s what You are capable of.

Because you ARE love.

You always will be.

Whether you realise it or not.

But love isn’t the only thing that won’t ever give up on you.

I won’t either.

Because I love you too.

And you’ll never have to ask me…’why?‘

I hope you are well.

Today I would like to tell you about some of the things I’ve seen and experienced in my life.

I’ve seen a man slam a car door as hard as he could onto the legs of his wife without so much as a second thought.

I’ve seen school bullies set fire to the hair of people that ‘didn’t quite fit in’.
Hell, I’ve been there myself and fuck me…that was HOT!!

I’ve seen wives try their utmost to tolerate the behaviour of men who should have known better.

I’ve seen children who have been abused by people who should have loved and protected them.

I’ve seen animals treated with such cruelty as to beggar belief.

I’ve seen people ‘in power’ sacrifice everything that ever mattered in an attempt to gain even more ‘power’?

I’ve seen soldiers fight and die for their country not because their country supported or believed in them but because they knew their cause was worth fighting for.

I’m still relatively young, but not too young to realise that I’ve seen far too much already.

I’ve seen some good stuff too, of course.

I’ve seen women realise they deserve better and decide to leave the people who don’t make them happy anymore.

I’ve seen abused children who have so much love to give and yet still have the courage and strength to forgive the people who have hurt them the most.

I’ve seen people risk all they have to stand up to bullies and show them not hate but compassion.

I’ve seen people donate to the RSPCA to help combat cruelty against animals.

I’ve seen politicians who have realised their dreadful mistakes and decided to correct them.

These are just some of the things I’ve seen in my life.

…so fucking what?

I hear what you’re saying.

And I’ve asked the same fucking question my whole life.

So what’s the answer?

That depends…

It depends on You.

And what You think and believe.

It’s all down to You.

It always will be.

So…do You truly give a fuck?

Could You?

Should You?

Only You can answer such questions.

Only You.

But if you need any help to decide…then perhaps I can offer some?

My advice…

Just show people love.

That’s all the advice I can hope to give you…for what it’s worth.

Just show people you love them.

And keep telling them they are worth the fight…always.

Tell people you will never give up on them.

Ever.

Why?

So simple!

Because you love them!

It’s just so fucking simple, isn’t it?!!

Because you love them!!

Say it now and make God damn sure you mean it this time!

And not because I’m encouraging or prompting you.

And never because anyone else says you should.

Say it because it’s REAL.

Say it because You truly MEAN it.

For fuck’s sake…and this is REALLY IMPORTANT and you NEED to know this…

Say it because it’s the God damn Truth.

And here’s the irony…you already fucking know all this!

So get out there RIGHT FUCKING NOW!!

And start telling people!

Tell people that you care about what they think.

Tell people that you believe in them and all their dreams…the crazier the better!

And tell people that you love them.

For all their beautiful imperfections, for all their ‘false’ hopes and ‘pointless’ dreams and for everything that never mattered anyway.

For all that stuff…

Just tell them that you love them.

And that you will ALWAYS BELIEVE IN THEM.

Because that’s the only thing that truly matters in this life.

It’s BELIEF.

And it’s LOVE.

First believe in yourself…and then decide to love yourself.

And then commit to believe in others…and to love them for themselves and for everything they could ever hope to be.

Today I have told you about some of the things I have seen and experienced in my life.

But tomorrow is another day…and so how will You decide to spend it?

What difference will You decide to make tomorrow?

Will that difference be for better…or for worse?

That’s your call.

You already know what I’d do.

And you also know that I believe in You and realise everything you are capable of.

So get fucking to it!!

Or what?

…or you’ll have ME to fucking deal with, that’s what!!

And let’s not even go there!!!
